Ever wondered what it takes to be an entrepreneur?

The professional and personal challenges, the high and lows, the failures and the success?

Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. It is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs with over 1800 past events in 120 countries around the world in 2014.

The non-profit organization is headquartered in Seattle, Washington but Startup Weekend organizers and facilitators can be found in over 200 cities around the world. From Mongolia to South Africa to London to Brazil, people around the globe are coming together for weekend long workshops to pitch ideas, form teams, and start companies.

All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekends culminate with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.

Whether entrepreneurs found companies, find a cofounder, meet someone new, or learn a skill far outside their usual 9-to-5, everyone is guaranteed to leave the event better prepared to navigate the chaotic but fun world of startups. company, Vodacom Lesotho as a Sales
and Distribution Manager. He is also the
founder of TKO Consultancy, a company
specializing in financial management
training, sales training and public speaking
with the goal of developing small, medium
enterprises (SME).
Tokiso is the President of the Rainbow
Toastmasters Club and Director Finance
of the Global Shapers Hub in Maseru. He
is passionate about public speaking and
participates in public speaking initiatives
geared at improving presentation and
public speaking skills. Tokiso is
passionate about youth development and
uses platforms such as radio to educate and motivate the youth to communicate
effectively, build self- confidence and to pursue and believe in the their dreams. Tokiso

Thapelo is both a lawyer and an entrepreneur. He has been in the practice in the practice of law for more than two (2) years under one of the reputable firms in Lesotho. Thapelo’s entrepreneurial trait has been manifested in a number of ways, for instance he is the founder and current Managing Director of Donny’s Fresh & Dried Fruit. He is also a major shareholder in a stationary and office supplies company called Exact Office Supplies. Thapelo also founded and runs, together with his partners, a legal consultancy firm called Motloha-Pele Consultancy. An upcoming business based in Borokhoaneng by the name of Kasi Chicken Farm, is made up by two partners and Thapelo is part of the partnership. He believes in the power of unity and because of that he is going to be part of a cooperative of local business people and entrepreneurs that will start operating in January 2018 and he will also lead an association of lawyers in business which will also kick-start its operations in 2018.
Thapelo Ntsiki is also a giver at heart hence he is an advocate for the respect of the corporate social responsibility obligations by businesses operating in Lesotho. Thapelo leads by example in this regard because the business he manages, Donny’s Fresh & Dried Fruit, has an organisation under registration processes called DFDF FOUNDATION. The aim of the organisation is to help teenagers from under-privileged families and poor backgrounds with access to education and educational facilities. The organisation is currently collaborating with an individual and the Ministry of Social Development in a case of a teenager who has to resume his studies in 2018.
